poured from a 16oz can into a SP BBT21 light bulb snifter. pours an inky, deep black with not even half a finger of mocha brown foam head that quickly disappears. light chocolate, roasted malts and very faint dark fruits on the nose and taste. medium-full mouthfeel. love the carbonation level as it’s not real tingly or lively on the tongue. idk if i really notice the rye component too much. maybe a touch spicy in the finish but that’s about it. it’s really just a good, straightforward imperial stout.

Look: It pours black with a brown head. Head retention is low.
Smell: Strong roasted aromas with raspberries. There are also background notes of cherries and light spices with some earthly elements.
Taste: It has roast flavors with dark chocolate. The spicy rye is more apparent in the flavors than in the aroma. There are very low level of raspberries and cherries.
Feel: It has a full body on the chewy side with a good deal of alcohol warming.
Overall, plenty of flavors and warming make this a good beer for a cold winters night.
