Crystal clear, lightly golden body; light yet lively carbonation presence; fairly thin head, white and loosely sudsy. Smells like freshly cooked rice, grainy; very mild undercurrent of zesty spiciness. Clean, mildly peppery and slightly malty flavor; light bitterness. Medium-light body; crisp; feathery smooth; soft dryness.

A very good rice lager with character.

And onto yet another Tavour beer. I'm really just trying to clear out of last months box before I dig into this months. Japanese Rice Lagers aren't a common style, so I was happy and a bit surprised to see one on Tavour, which tends to focus on "hype beers". Naturally I had to grab it when I saw it. Let's crack it open and see what it's all about

Pours a clear straw with 2 fingers of soapy white head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing

There's a nice bite to this in the nose, but still mostly grainy sweet. I'm picking up on aromas of toasted grain, herbal hops, wildflower honey, bready malt, lemon zest, cooked rice, light white pepper, and biscuit

It trends sweeter in taste and has a touch of a metallic off-note which I don't love, but it's still fine. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting biscuity malt, floral hops, sweet honey, cereal grain, grass, light orange zest, and light cracker. The swallow brings notes of biscuity malt, cereal grain, floral hops, grass, sweet honey, and a slight metallic twang

A medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a slick beer. Finishes a tad sticky and the metallic note drags it down. Not really refreshing for a style that should be

This isn't great, but it's mostly passable. It'd probably be better as a food beer imo

A Tavour Treat Pours a very pale yellow color with a small white head that disappears quickly. Aroma of fresh grass and floral. Taste is slightly bitter, crisp and dry.

16oz can from Tavour. Pale golden pour with a thin, tight white head. Grainy, bready aroma. Taste is light and biscuity, mild sweetness. Creamy body, really bready.
