16 ounce can into a tulip snifter. Canned 1/9/23, had 12/27/23.
Pours a dark amber color, mostly opaque, with a one inch quickly dissipating foamy head and light foamy lacing. Aromas of caramel, bourbon, malt, figs, some raisins and brown sugar, some oak, light chocolate. The flavors are about the same, but a little more defined and distinct: bourbon, caramel, malt, raisins, brown sugar, figs. Smooth, a very good medium body, well carbonated.
Tasty. There’s a nice balance between the barrels and the base; solid aromas and flavors. Very enjoyable.

I unintentionally cellared this for almost a year, but it was a great decision based on previous reviews, because this is beautiful. Dark brown body, beige head that fades into a ring. Barrel, leather, scottish malts, toasted caramel and raisin in nose. Taste features usual wee heavy tones, leather, toasted caramel, barley, bourbon, prune, dark oak, char, and big rugged earth. Feel is warm with booze, sharp wood and barley, malty for the rest of the sip, warm medium bodied, and richly refined. Wonderful!

Poured into a MacAndrew's thistle glass. Pours a very dark mahogany brown with little light transmission in the glass and a thin, light dark khaki head that dissipates to sparse patches with slight lacing. Aroma of dry caramel malt, dates, dried plums, raisins, mild bourbon and oak. Flavor is dry caramel malt, bourbon, raisins, dates, woody oak and a hint of smoke; a light rye or dried cherry tartness in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. Not sure I've had a bourbon barreled wee heavy before, but it seems like a style that would work out well. The bourbon does meld with the caramel and fruit flavors of the malt; it's hard to tell whether the fruitiness comes from the malt or bourbon. An authentic tasting wee heavy body, but the finish is slightly tart and could use a bit more smoke. Overall enjoyable and different.

Poured at fridge temp. Pours a very dark brown - teetering on black. Not much head. The nose is insane. Tons of toffee and barrel. Reminds me of Wulver at first. Toffee, figs, prunes, slight vanilla, and a touch of maple.
The taste is amazing. The barrels shine and dominate. Big Weller bourbon notes. Chocolate, toffee, figs, plums, raisins, brown sugar, oak, and bready malts.
The parallels between this and Wulver are striking. This might be up there in my top 3 Scotch style ales (with Backwoods and Wulver). I wish I had more access to this!

A new brewery from me via a 16 oz. can delivered by Tavour. I don’t drink a lot of this style anymore; seems like there aren’t a lot roamin’ around my area.
The pour is dark to the point of black with Kidman highlights. Nose is heavy barrel, heavy oak, nuttiness. Scotch ale?
Incendiary Wee Heavy – Weller Bourbon Aged leads with its booze chin. It’s a part of a recent pattern: tons of barrel, with the beer element lost in the background or nearly entirely absent. Same story here. Heavy bourbon, sharp, splintered oak, caramel that’s been dipped in tar, with a finish of sweet malt.
Again: great barrel, but a plywood floor would elevate the entire feng shui. Good, solid beer.

Deep, dark brown body; fizzy carbonation presence; small head that quickly dissipates to nothing, just percolating bubbles breaking the top of the beer. Rich, relatively complex aroma; roasted grains, mild chocolate, some oak-like notes. Sweet and boozy taste; caramel and rye notes; maple syrup and tobacco. Heavy body; extremely smooth and slippery on the palate; lots of alcohol heat and warmth.
The most interesting part of this beer is it's flavor. The lack of any head, even with the high ABV is disappointing. An interesting beer if rather forgettable overall.
Pouring temperature: 49 °F; canning info: n/a

16oz can from Tavour. Dark brown pour, nearly flat, fine ring. Aroma is heavy on the barrel, sweet, peaty, malty. Taste leads with bourbon notes, sweet, malty, boozy. Slick, slippery feel.
