Look: It pours very dark brown with a tan head. Head retention is low.
Smell: It has roasted aromas up front with some earthen elements in the background.
Taste: It has plenty of strong roasted aromas with earthen elements in support. There is a very light burnt note in the background.
Feel: It has a medium body with medium high bitterness in the finish.
Overall: Fairly basic flavors and aromas although what is there is quite pronounced and well done.

Pours a dark, clear brown, opaque in the glass; excellent head, khaki hued, dense and creamy, fantastic head retention. Pleasant yet lightweight nose of roasted grains with a hint of cacao. Light roasted grain sweetness; milk chocolate; light charred grain bitterness, no real hop bitterness noted. Medium mouthfeel; mild and lingering velvety feel.
This beer apparently won a World Beer Cup gold medal in the brown porter category. After refreshing my knowledge online about the beer style, I would say it certainly meets and, perhaps, exceeds the style. Very nice dark beer that certainly improves with some warming in the glass.
Pouring temperature: 41 °F; canning info: n/a
