An adjuncted barrel aged quad? I should hate this, but I don’t, I adore it! Opaque brown pour with a khaki head. Smells like oatmeal raisin cookie but with fig soaked in bourbon and decent toasty oak, amazing. Taste is more beer-like with the Belgian yeast, mild barrel, and malt all coming into focus on the palate, with fig, cinnamon, vanilla, caramel and plum. Feel is sharper with the yeast and the sneaky barrel, but softens up, hides booze well, New world but damn is good, harkens back to old world desserts. Bravo! The wife loved it

Appearance: Pours coffee colored with a thin beige cap that fades to a collar and swirl; speckles drizzle down
Smell: Spice cake with fig and cinnamon ensconced in a delicate Bourbon barrel tone
Taste: Spice cake flavors (both spices and cake) forward with the fig emerging first and then the cinnamon; Bourbon arrives, in the mid-palate, to add complexity; the Bourbon, fig and cinnamon all are prominent in the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with low to moderate carbonation
Overall: I would like a bit more carbonation to create Belgian mouthfeel but, otherwise, this is just extraordinary
