Cellared a year. Indeed a black appearance with a brown ring. Smells of barley, earth, raisin, cocoa, tobacco and harsher dark grain all backed by bourbon barrel. Taste has some soy sauce within the booze, the wood and barley bond well, but the finish is kind of harsh. Feel is medium bodied, warm, grainy, earthy and decently dry

500ml waxed and capped bottle into a Founders snifter.
Pours pitch black but not heavy. Slick, oily legs. No head or lace. Nose is dried dark fruit, touch of sweet soy sauce, booze, and molasses. Beer opens chocolate, raisin, plum, and molasses. Boozy in the middle with layers of brown sugar, semi-sweet chocolate, and logan in the middle. Sweet, sugary bourbon notes in the back throughout. Finish is smoke, roast, oak, and more chocolate. Body is full with low carbonation. Slick on the palate and boozy going down. Accented, chewy finish. Long, lingering aftertaste.
Incendiary's execution is near flawless every time. This beer is no different. Really excellent.
