Shimmering black body, light brown collar. Taste is rugged to the enth degree with big rye, dark bitter chocolate, barrel, char, leather and with a hint of anise and licorice. Smell takes on more of the rye barrel with charred earth and bitter chocolate fudge. Chewy and warm with a boozy punch, rye is strong, not the smoothest but heavy and complex

500ml waxed and capped bottle into a BBT snifter.
Pours dense, pitch black. Slick, oily legs. No head or legs. Nose is cocoa, dark dried fruit, oak, and sweet soy sauce. Rich and sticky. Beer opens chocolate, cocoa, and dried dark fruit. Oak, loads of barrel, and smoke in the middle. Sweet soy sauce and fudge in the middle and end. Molasses, tobacco, and wet wood in the finish. Great complexity. Classic flavors. Body is full with low carbonation. Slick and oily on the palate and goes down hot, boozy. Long, lingering, sticky aftertaste.
Just really well executed. A classic take on the style.
