500ml waxed and capped bottle into a BBT snifter.
Pours dense and pitch black. Beer is slick, oily, viscous. Big, sticky legs. No head or lace. Nose is booze, sweet soy sauce, chocolate, molasses, and liquorice. Beer opens Chocolate, cocoa, liquorice. Baker's chocolate, brown sugar, and molasses in the middle. Hints of barrel and spice. More of the same in the finish and aftertaste. Body is full with low carbonation. Slick and viscous on the palate and goes down smooth and rich. Messy, lingering aftertaste.
Solid but that walnut addition imparts a rather odd flavor.

Slate black body with a dark brown ring. Aromas of rye whiskey, bourbon, rye, rugged earth and cherry. Taste features rye, walnut, black strap molasses lead with smoke, char, dark chocolate, and leather in the background, hint of cinnamon on the finish. Feel is rye and barrel forward, oak felt more than other aspects, walnut and malt are base, rugged and full but not too heavy overall. Expected more cinnamon, rye is the clear star
