Tar black opaque black, no head save a bubble ring. Aromas of sweeter rye with vanillins, dark chocolate and a hint of earth. Taste is much the same but a certain sweetness, brown sugar maybe as it isn't super defined on the finish take away from the rye and robust nature of the sip. Feel is why I think this isn't a cut above, the barrel character that makes it through the thick malts is mostly just rye, warm and heavy as a rock. It's fine but was hoping for more
