Stock aged for 12 months in Buffalo Trace barrels & 12 months in Oloroso Sherry barrels, then blended together to create a berry bomb with notes of blueberry, blackberry, toasted vanilla, sugar cookie, and a hint of chocolate-covered nuts.

Opaque darker brown body with a fat tan collar. Smells is full of dark fruits, sherry and bourbon about equally with brown sugar and leathery undertones. Taste has barrels and dark fruit galore, sherry with a slight edge over the bourbon, yeast is expressive on the back end, malts are sweeter with flavors of candi sugar, brown sugar, and a hint of vanilla. Feel is warmer for the series, the booziness is more powerful than the malt and yeast are to contain it, residual sugars reside in the aftertaste. New world all the way, but nowhere as good as others in the series though

Appearance: Pours espresso colored with a beige film that becomes wispy; leggy but no lacing
Smell: The sweet grape tones of Oloroso Sherry are in the forefront though the caramel and vanilla from the Bourbon barrel are in the mix, as well; dark berries, all around
Taste: Dark berries forward with the Oloroso making an early impression; the Bourbon doesn't add much until the finish, where it adds some caramel and vanilla
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with low carbonation
Overall: Much better than the Port and Bourbon version I tried last night, as the Oloroso works better with the Bourbon; the mouthfeel is better, too, but I am not sure why that would be the case
