Appearance: Pours coffee colored with a thin film that fades to a collar; leggy with speckles
Smell: Fig, date and dried plum with the maple and macaroon distinct; some Bourbon, as well, and just a hint of coconut
Taste: Fig, data and dried plum forward but the maple and macaroon dominate; the Bourbon is very limited, as is the coconut
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with low to moderate carbonation
Overall: Last night, I tried the non-adjuct verson that had been aged in Buffalo Trace and it was stupendous; by contrast, this is a disappointment, being too much in the direction of being a pastry Wee Heavy; still good but nowhere near the adjunct free version
