Damn just a regular, straight-up IPA? They didn't add lawn clippings to it or age it in tar barrels or nothing fancy like that? Wow. I didn't think it was legal to brew something like this no more.
Pour is straightforward: Dark yellow, bordering on orange, very hazy and with a lovely white head.
Hop profile seems old school at first, perhaps cascade, but after a few sniffs it seems like something different. There's a bit less pine and just a hint of tropical fruit against a malt profile that's a weird but pleasant combination of toast and marshmallows.
Tastes like it smells, marked heavily by the unknown hop (a google search reveals it to be "Experimental Hop #07270," which I have not heard of before). Hop spice starts things off with what can be described as a nice blend of European spiciness and American citrusy-ness. The malt in the middle is a tad too sweet for the hop profile--it never gets cloying but it's just a little bit unbalanced. It comes together a lot better on the finish, though, where the spice of the hops blends with the aforementioned marshmallow nodes.
This beer pulls off the rare feat of being unique without being super intense. They don't *quite* knock it out of the park, but it's a great effort and a solid beer.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
