395. A Rye.
From the site:
A Maryland style Rye Amber Lager/Ale hybrid celebrating the heritage of MD style rye whiskey ingredients. Local Chesapeake Malting barley with rye for a nice bite and corn to smooth it all out. A refreshing and dry rye finish.
No idea what a Maryland style rye is.
But, but I will say I like how they're trying to announce their intentions with this beer, style-wise.
It pours very dark for a rye IPA. But still pretty. Dark dark cherry red with some medium fizz.
Smells like sharp hops and sharp rye. Very nice, but a little one-note.
Tastes bready up front, malty in the middle, fruity and malty and sharp on the finish. It's all about the finish line, here. And they do a good job of pulling everything across.
