This stout is brewed with lactose and crab shells from JM Clayton, a 5th generation family owned crab processor in Cambridge, MD. The salts from the shells give it a nice and smooth roundness.

Black with tan head, good retention, splotchy lace
Hot cocoa with a shot of espresso aroma
Dark chocolate and espresso flavor, and a touch of crab shell. Might just be in my head knowing that it was brewed with crab shells, but growing up on the Chesapeake, I can definitely place that flavor.
Full bodied and appropriately carbonated
Interesting twist on the idea of oyster stout (stout brewed with seafood). Good beer. They should probably put an allergy warning in bold on the can.

8 oz pour on tap at the brewery. Pours nearly pitch black with a smallish tan head. Aroma and flavor feature roasty malt with a good hit of bitterness and earthy hops. Some coffee/chocolate as well. Mouthfeel is only slightly thin, on par for the style. Overall it's a very drinkable if not memorable low-abv American stout.
