Possum is that rate 9% Imperial Amber unicorn which only comes out this time of year! The hint of rye spice plays with all the crystal malts and the super dry finish to give you that elusive spicy banana bread in a glass. You can seriously drink this beer like it's a 5%er...Dangerously good!

I'm reviewing this 1/2 drunk after visiting the brewery on their 2nd Anniversary.
I will ignore the plastic cup serving as I have had this beer in the past in proper glassware.
This fresh version is maybe the best batch Ive tried, and this judgement comes from before it kicked in after the drive home.
A lovely deep amber -red with a big caramel malt and pine forest hop nose. Off white head clings even to the opaque plastic cup.
Flavor is a blueprint of balance in flavor. Rich crystal malt and earthy, conifer hop flavors marry lustfully on the tongue.
No one flavor dominates as the mix and dance of caramel sweet with peppery / lemongrass hop waltzes across the palate and pirouette down the gullet.
Raw, rough grain notes come in as the sugar coated pine needle hop bite tingles the back of the throat.
Body is medium + and carries the alcohol well, hiding it in the complexity of caramel coated stone fruit and Spruce tips.
It's a bit of a sleeper at 9% and begs another, which would be a mistake at the bar maybe, but you can get more to go.

Enjoyed on draft at the brewery.

Minimal head with solid lacing around glass.
Reddish amber in color. Malty and sweet but surprisingly light body on my pallet.
I’m a big fan of ambers, and this was a solid representation of one.
For being an imperial, you certainly don’t notice the 9%. I could see throwing back 2-3 of these easily and realizing I can’t walk afterwards.
