Decanted from a 16 oz (473 ml) can into a Sam Adams Perfect pint; no production information.
A: Pours a hazy, rose-golden color with a one finger, short lived, off-white head, rim retention, and little or no lacing.
S: Aromas of bread crust, strawberry and the pips, guava, wet hay, seas salt, and pepper.
T: Semisweet. Aromas of sea salt, strawberry, and guava. Flavors sharply appreciable. Solid bitterness, to some degree consistent with strawberry pips.
M: Medium bodied with moderate effervescence.
O: It is really rare that I find a "strawberry" beer of any sort captures anything approaching real strawberry flavor. Ruby Sunset is aptly named and certainly did so without tasting artificial or overwrought. Nicely done!
