2025 Edition: On tap at the brewery. Adjusted score reflects the current version.
This Old Ale / Barleywine is brewed with Marris Otter malt, local Rye and Demerara sugar.
Medium amber color with a low, off white head that retains a never-ending film has minimal carbonation yet just enough to keep it lively.
Rich, deep malt richness in the nose, big fruity esters of pears and berries, the aroma carries through the flavor.'
Big malt character, tasty caramel covered apple notes and stone fruit jam followed by hop and rye dryness, herbal and nutty.
Body is bold but not heavy until it warms, a sipper with strong bitter and alcohol finish.
Winter Warmer indeed.
