61031 code on the bottle... 10/31/16 bottling date?
Appearance - Pours relatively clear and purely gold in color with a white, half finger width head. Fair retention, resulting in a thin, broken layer of suds, thickening into a ring at the edge of the glass.
Smell - Fruity, spicy and bready notes on the nose. Orange with hints of pineapple and passion fruit. Nice, fragrant aroma.
Taste - Follows the nose to a degree. A bit of orange, pine and pineapple upfront, then a huge wave of slightly toasted bready malts crashes the party. Breadiness dies down, allowing spice and some orange pith to surface in the finish and linger in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - Light-to-medium in body with moderate carbonation. Slick texture with a slightly crisp, dry finish.
Overall - Reminds me a lot of Monkey Knife Fight, with a slightly tropical twist. Good drinking beer, but nothing that'll knock your socks off.
