I had this cask conditioned at Rubicon.
Dark brown, it has a small off-white head slowly shrinking to foamy ring, some wisps, faint bit of lace.
Aroma is caramelly-woody maltiness with some very light chocolate and coffee.
Taste is caramelised woody-nutty maltiness, toasty, faint hint of chocolatey coffee and light spicy-woody roasty bitterness to balance out, and in the finish just dominate, the light malty sweetness. Character is full-bodied and the feel is similarly full bodied, on the heavier side (in a good way), but with some liveliness. It's a good food-friendly brown ale, easygoing but substantial enough and firm enough to handle food well.

Not a huge fan of English Browns, but this is an exception. Poured clear brown with a good-looking off-white head that stuck around and left a sheet of lacing. Unexpected coffee and cocoa nose. Bready malt and some nuts. Bubbly mouthfeel with a medium finish. Bittersweet taste of coffee and caramel malt, and no nuts, which I really liked. Instead, a hoppy bitterness came out which really livened up the beer. Went down easily. Pretty good session beer.

On tap at the rube
A - Pours a dark mahogany, with a 2 fingered cappuccino colored head. Dssipates slow and leaves some beautiful lacing.
S/T - Notes of light coffee and chocolate immediately bite you, followed by some light bitterness and a light, but strange sourish/acidic/metallic taste. Not sure if this is from the hops or if the tap lines have not been sanitized properly.
M - Full bodied, well-balanced, and smooth. Definitely what a brown should offer.
D - This is good for the style. Would like a growler if pulled from a different tap.

Not sure if this is a new release or what but its not on their website.
The beer pours a clear dark brown color that has little head or lacing.. The smell is very mild but what does come through is nutty and caramelly. The taste is a heavier newcastle taste. It has the darker malts poking through with minimal coffee flavor and no watered down qualites aside from the smell. Light/medium body and drinkable, possibly served too cold.
It doesn't strike me as overly inventive but it is very true to the style.
