A thanks to the incredible woodychandler for this beer. Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has an amber/copper color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of bready malts. Taste is coffee(?), toasted malts. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall it's a bit different for the style, and a pretty good beer.

This DelMarVa (+ DC) adventure of mine has morphed into my latest CANQuest (tm) focus! I really had no idea that MaryCANd, especially, was putting out so much beer. 8=O It seems as though every time I feel like I a close, some more beers from that area Pop! up from out of hiding to surprise me. Further, I am back to work so I CANnot keep up the pace that I set during the Christmas/Winter Break. 8=( On top of all of that, even New Beer Sunday is off-limits due to prior CANmitments. 8=(

This was a CANmemorative brew for a locally (DE)-made mockumentary entitled, "Beer CAN: A Love Story" in which I had a small part. The premiere was held in early-November 2019 in Wilmington, DE & this was the acCANponying beer. I had several that night, but since I do not (generally) do field reviews any longer, I brought a couple/few back to LanCANster, PA with me for a review.

From the CAN: "Original Beer One Pint"; "Are You a Bottle or a CAN?"; "Produced in conjunction with Beer CAN a love story"; "Art Concept by Chris Vellrath"; "Inspired by the film Beer Can, a love story, this amber lager is a traditional German beer, with the subtle suggestion of caramel and a clean lager finish. Be sure to check out the film, and look for scenes filmed at the Wilmington Brew Works Taproom, and a cameo from the owners."; "Keep Cold, Drink Fresh"; "Proudly Brewed in the First State".

All right, here goes for the CANteenth time! It would be a lie to say that I have not drank this one many times over, just not for a review. It all beCAN with a Crack! of the vent, followed by a slow, gentle C-Line Glug. This resulted in the formation of just over a finger of fizzy, foamy, rocky, tawny head with moderate retention, slowly falling away to wisps. Color was a gorgeous Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9) with NE-quality clarity. Nose was very malty, quite biscuity, more of a throwback to the late-1980s Amber than the CANtemporary hoppy Amber of today. No problem. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, not watery, but no great shakes, either. The taste remained very malty & quite biscuity, again fine for the style. Finish was semi-sweet with a light pepperiness that lingered well after the swallow, I love that they were willing to do this for (us) & I am going to show them some love for all of the hospitality. YMMV.
