Can to snifter.
The appearance was a fairly dark brown close to black color with an eggshell white foamy head sliding off delicately to leave a modest foamy lace, seemed to really try to take it's time to fall off. A slight film stuck for a little bit.
The aroma definitely started with a roasty dark chocolate to subtle milk chocolate quality while bringing in some coffee sweet tones. Then the red raspberry slid in underneath in an authentic semi-sweet yet with a kind tart sort of way.
The flavor leaned towards the roasty and dark toasty to bitter chocolate side. Mellow aftertaste of roasty chocolate powdery substance with some bitterness but a nice red raspberry sweet tartness.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Some dryness but with a semi-sticky sort of thing going on. Some smoothness. Finishes semi-dry with roasty effects, very low on the red raspberry.
Overall, a very nice imperial stout with red raspberries integrated quite well!
