Canned 3/13/20
Pours a dark colored fizzy almost 1 finger head with med-low retention, touch of lacing, very dark molasses brown color with almost no light coming through so looks basically black
Nose brings loads of fresh coffee, fresh roasted coffee beans, dark roasted charred coffee, a heavy rich earthy coffee like a Pacific Island or African, a little nutty, very toasty as well, a little dark chocolate, and chocolate covered kona bean like, borderline espresso
Taste starts rich with dark chocolate and a little caramel out front, as well as some baking spice, a bit fudgey, but coffee really takes over and dominates again, roasted coffee beans and espresso characters, toasty as well, again a bit of a heavy roasted bean with earthy nutty flavors, a little cocoa bean, a little bitter acrid roasted coffee bean, again the chocolate covered kona beans and has the lingering coffee roast like I ate one of those beans, very strong coffee, drier finish with what lingering? You guessed it, lots of coffee!
Mouth is med to a bit fuller bod, a little creamy rich, med to a little lighter foamy carb
Overall not bad, but waaaaay too much coffee to really enjoy it. If it was much lower abv I would drink this in the morning instead of my coffee since it's such a sharp heavy coffee flavor, but with the abv there I don't think that would be a good idea.
