On-tap 12/30/2021 at the brewery’s taproom in Providence, RI, served in a tulip glass.
A: The beer is a deep black color, with a large tan head that fades slowly and leaves a very thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains roasted malts, oats, chocolate, coffee and faint touches of dark fruit and hops.
T: The taste starts out with some breadiness from a hearty roasted malt character and toasted oats. Then some mildly sweet flavor of coffee and chocolate come in. The hops presence is very mild but complementary and provides a very good balance. The after-taste is slightly bready.
M: Smooth and crisp, medium body, light-to-medium carbonation, finish is dry and slightly sticky.
O: Tasty, goes down easily, slightly filling, mild kick, very good representation of style. This is a solid stout to drink for a while.
