Copenhagen 15/12 2018. 33 cl small chubby bottle in Alaryks usual venue. Dark winter version of their usual design. Can understand that they won a Gold Medal for Bottle design at World Beer Awards. It is an immensely cute bottle.
Pours murky amber with medium-sized white head. Settles as thin layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is dark and spicy. Cinnamon, detergent and quite dominant odor of Ginger. Not much else coming through this wall of spices.
Light carbonation. Thin watery, oily texture.
Flavor is fairly sweet followed by a medium spicy bitterness. Aftertaste is spicy and a little watery. Lingers shortly.
Quite fair that this beer won a Design Award - but unfortunately the beer does not fully live up to the elegant design. The spices is bit overdone but cannot hide that the beer is a bit on the thin side.
