Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium coppery amber with a fine, two finger white head with great retention and lacing. Aroma of pale malt, citrus and dank hops, lemon, grapefruit and green melon. Flavor is pale malt, citrus and piney hops with light dankness, grapefruit, green melon, a touch of stone fruit. Finishes with resinous piney and citrus peal bitterness. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. I was not sure from the name how hazy this would be, but the initial pour is fairly transparent with a little haziness on the final pour. The flavor is solid citrus and fruit with not much hazy beer character. There is a resinous quality to the finish that indicates some hop powder that may be what's hinted at in the name. Not familiar with Strata hops, but I liked this hop quite a bit. Not too complex, but lots of traditional IPA flavor. Interesting flavor progression with the bitterness moderate at the start, then seem to fade, like a hazy IPA, revealing more fruit, but with a quite satisfying citrus rind and dank hop finish. Enjoyable. Great can art too.
