When your friends can’t always remember which side of the boat is port and which is starboard, just combine the two, grab your board and move on.
This brown porter starts with hints of malt and has a little roasted finish. It has a dark brown color with notes of english malt, hopped with fuggle and willamette.

A: Pours an opaque yet still clear extremely dark chestnut brown approaching jet black in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and faint cola brown + garnet red colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall foamy tan head that reduces to a medium sized patch of thin film surrounded by a large patch of very thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of roasted + toasted + dark + caramel malts with a light amount of caramel sweetness and light aromas of spicy + herbal + earthy + grassy hops.
T: Upfront there are slightly stronger than moderate flavors of roasted + toasted + dark + caramel malts with a light amount of caramel sweetness. That is followed by light to moderate flavors of spicy + herbal + earthy + grassy hops which impart a light to moderate amount of bitterness which slowly fades away.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol. Pleasant flavor and aroma - enjoyable though it reminds me a bit of hybrid between a brown ale and a porter.
