A: Pours an opaque yet still clear thick viscous jet black in color with light to moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and faint dark cola brown + chestnut brown colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense creamy foamy dark tan head that slowly reduces to a large patch of medium thick film covering the entire surface of the beer and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Just shy of strong aromas of freshly roasted + brewed coffee over the top of moderate aromas of roasted + caramel + chocolate malts with a light to moderate amount of caramel sweetness. Light aromas of earthy hops.
T: Upfront there are slightly stronger than moderate flavors of roasted + caramel + chocolate malts with a light to moderate amount of caramel sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of freshly roasted + brewed coffee. Light flavors of earthy hops. Light to moderate amounts of roasty bitterness which lingers through the finish.
M: Just shy of full bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth, almost creamy.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a very pleasant mouthfeel. Really enjoyable with a great coffee presence.
