Gersakh Brewery / Penguin

The Penguin pub located on the premises of the Gersakh brewery offers all four of the breweries products - two types of pale lager, a red lager, and a dark lager. All are reasonably good, with the red lager winning the competition for my heart. The menu was pretty limited (open faced sandwiches, munchies), and I didn't try anything. The place was pretty run down in November 2002, but is now (July 2003) closed for renovation. I have high hopes, as the Gersakh brewery produces the best beer on Sakhalin Island. OK, that may not impress many people, but the stuff actually is pretty good, especially fresh at the brewery.
