A strong porter made from local plums from Varde and the surrounding area. The plums have been pickled in dark rum - this gives the porter an extra strong body and a great fullness with a slightly fruity touch.
With the dark, powerful body and the beautiful flavor nuances of coffee, chocolate, plum/prune, this beer is suitable for mature cheeses or a delicious chocolate and desserts.

Copenhagen 23/3 2024. 50 cl bottle from Vinspecialisten, Søndergade, Herning. The usual Hr. Skov brand design with the crooked tree with a single red apple. This time on a dark brown background.
Pours opaque dark brown with a big beige head. A bit bubbly. Settles as thin patches of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a dark sweet odor of roasted malts and dark fruits. Toffee, caramel and roasted bread. Whiff of cherries, prunes and plum.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick. oily, soft, almost flat texture.
Flavor is intense with a light sweetness followed by a strong tart, fruity bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a sour streak,. Lingering. Finish is rather dry.
Darkly fruity porter.
