Whiskey Barrel Aged Scotia.
Pours brown with off white head. Aroma is toffee, maple, and vanilla. Not sure I got much barrel. Flavor had the barrel, fortunately. Maple, toffee, brown sugar, whiskey and oak, vanilla and a touch of earthy hops. Medium bodied. Overall, really good beer. Not quite great but also not far off. If aroma and mouthfeel were slightly better, it would be.

This was a drain poor. I love Bosque otherwise (maybe I had a bad bottle).

22oz waxed bomber poured into a tulip.
Scotia Limited pours a gorgeous dark amber/caramel color with a thick, full tan head that lingers for a while before dissipating into a light collar with heavy lacing. Appears fairly viscous but not overly thick. Aroma is heavy on oak, subtle spirits, lots of sweet toffee, and a hint of booze. Taste is deeply satisfying for the sweet tooth: massive caramel/toffee/burnt sugar, lots of oak/charred wood, light Bourbon, some subtle vanilla/coconut, lots of residual sugar on the finish but also a pleasant spiced note/subtle bittering. Medium bodied, smooth full mouth feel, slick/viscous. Carbonation fits very well to the style, not overdone, but enough to move the beer and pop those rich sweet flavors.

Serves in a Munique glass from a bomber. One of 600 bottles of this beer produced. Bosque brewed this in collaboration with local liquor store Jubilation.
A creamy off-white head forms a finger and a half thick, somewhat light and airy in composition. It settles into a layer of film over the dark brown liquid. Carbonation seeps upward. 4.25
I'm always a fan of bourbon-barrel aged beers that aren't overwhelmed by the bourbon and the nose on this suggests such. It's caramel sweet with an oatmeal cookie similarity. Pleasant notes of vanilla and oak subtly kiss the nostrils. No right hooks, no jabs, no punches. Very nice. 4.5
Oh my that's good. First thoughts are of tobacco. Very oak-heavy with a slathering of vanilla and caramel. It get noticeably more bourbony with some warmth but it maintains a scotch ale personality. 4.5
The body on this brew is excellent. It's medium-bodied but sips lighter with a very mild booze feel that's almost not there. There's good sweetness, a touch of spice and a semi-creamy but earthy finish that takes things out more like a dessert wine. 4.25
I'm more than happy with this beer. Bosque has been doing some great beers, especially their IPAs/DIPAs, but this shows the greatness we can expect and beyond hop-laden brews. Just outstanding.
