On tap at the brewery 3/29/2015. Tasting notes as follows: similar appearance to the Pale Ryder, appears to be a bit darker hued but otherwise yellow with a darker copper hue. One finger white head, some lacing remains, fairly standard. Smells of the similar grapefruit and lemon aromas from Pale Ryder, but otherwise supplanted by a notably sweet caramel and bready aroma which seems increased from the base. Flavour is similarly grapefruit-forward but with a strong sweet caramel backbone. A bit of lemon gives a small pop to the flavour near the end with a bit of zesty bitterness. Mouthfeel is a bit sticky but otherwise medium bodied and about right for the style, good carbonation, fairly sweet finish. Overall a very solid double pale ale that seems to ramp up the sweetness more than it does the hoppiness. I enjoyed this more than the single version.
