16 ounce pour in a pub glass at the San Mateo brewery location.
Copper-colored body with champagne-like carbonation. Creamy and sudsy head with superb retention. Lacing sticks to the glass. Excellent. 5
That aroma is doing it for me. Underripe mango and papaya. Makes me think of the Tropics. Wrapped in potents pineyness. 4.5
Flavor continues to hit with underripe mango and introduces some pineapple notes. Tutti frutti. Still has some piney flavor but it mingles with pungent, dry fruit flavor. The finish reminds me of the prickly bite of pineapple. 4.5
Love the bone-dry feel to this beer and the crispness. Really contributes to the easy-drinking character and makes it far too easy to toss back. Add to that the prickly, resinous, piney quality and this just hits all the right notes. Juiciness is there too and on point. And for a 4.8% it's still plentiful in the body. I gotta give this a 5er. 5
Yessir. Getting a growler fill right now. Need to drink as much of this as possible while it's on. Damn Bosque and John Bullard for making these one-off masterpieces (see also: Simcoe Pils), that will likely not return. Painful to think about. These should be regulars!
