Bourbon barrel version of their Double Sunshine (blond) Stout, the original of which I was not much a fan of. I agree with LXIXME in questioning the stout tag, I guess it has some qualities of a stout but I disagree that the the differentiating variable is simply appearance. To me this is not a stout and it is probably 99% of why I disliked the base beer initially, as I expected one thing and got something different. This time around, going into it with some idea of what to expect, my experience was far more enjoyable. Pours a clear golden with a white head and slight retention on sides of the glass. Aroma is white chocolate and cookie dough mixed with some oaked bourbon. Flavor is white chocolate, cookie dough, milk, vanilla, bourbon, and oak. A creamy, heavier medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, enjoyable beer. On the sweeter side of things but in no way cloying.

This is what they call a golden stout. Some qualities are stout like, some not so much.
