On tap at Bosque Brewing in Albuquerque, NM.

This one pours a dark-ish black color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like dark roasted coffee, milk chocolate, some light smoke, and lots of roasted malt.

This tastes much more full than the lower ABV (5.9%) would suggest, with a very rich and clean malt backbone. There’s chocolate, coffee, roast, and just a wisp of smoke, with a wonderful creaminess on the end.

This is creamy, smooth, and rich, with a really good drinkability.

This was highly impressive – probably the best beer that I had at Bosque on my trip.

The beer is a very dark brown with a hint of red. There is a medium-sized tan head that persisted, and there was a good deal of lace.
Subtle aroma, coffee and chocolate.
Taste also subtle. Coffee, chocolate, a little char.
Medium-bodied.
An OK beer.

The usual dark and nearly black in the nonic. Not much head. Modestly carbonated with just a light tingle in the mouth. Retains a ring of foam, however.

This just tastes really burnt to me. A dark malty sweetness but lots of charred grain. Tastes of something like bark. A touch of straw, maybe Cheerios, and burnt sugar. Dry aftertaste with a rising bitterness. I'm not sure why this so unsettling but it's not as pleasurable as your average simple Porter.

On tap at the brewery and taproom in Albuquerque.
