On tap at brewery. Taste and aroma good, but nice appearance and feel elevate this. Pale golden body with streaky lacing, mild grainy, hoppy nose. Taste in the wheelhouse. Nice mouthfeel, but finishes fast.

Very impressed with this, though it had an odd taste on the back. Nice use of the yeast but could be more present. A little light on the hops and body

The 2015 version of the Pale Ryder, tried on tap at the Taos Ale House (NM), is sneakily good. It is a very solid pale ale, and I was shocked to see this classified as a rye ale, as there wasn't much rye note to it at all. But in the end, that's a good thing. Runs in the same pack as the less weighty IPAs like Easy Jack and Go To IPA (both Calis) but yet another hit from Bosque. Surprised that this doesn't rate higher among the BA folks.

On tap at the brewery on 3/29/2015. Tasting notes as follows. Pale yellow body with a slight copper-orange hue, one finger white head, nice rings of lacing remain. Smell is a mild grapefruit, not overwhelming, with a balanced caramel and bready pale malt sweetness. Some lemon as well. Flavour is similar, with a fair amount of grapefruit, a bit of lemon in the background, all supported by a dry pale malt sweetness without any graininess. Very clean. Body is moderate for the style, good carbonation, moderately bitter but easy to drink. Overall, a more than very solid pale ale that I would drink often if I was a local.

easy going rye pale ale here. bronze hued with a thin head, hints of lacing cling to the sides of the bosque logo glass. nose is subtle, with light grainy notes and some earthy, pine. rye toast across the palate, and touches of lemony hop bitterness. medium full mouthfeel, especially for a 5.2% brew. finishes with a balanced bitterness kept in check with the malts. sessionable.

Had this on tap at the brewery. Rye's are a particular favorite of mine. A great unique alternative to IPA. Off white head leads to nice lacing in the glass. Straw color. A light floral aroma. Slight malt sweetness accompanied by a subdued floral hop note. Pleasant mouthfeel. Not to heavy. A pronounced spicy rye finish lingers without being overbearing. I will have this again.
