An average strength English style pale ale/ESB; balanced perfectly between malt and hops for an easy drinking session ale.

Poured from a 16 oz. can into a Willi Becher glass
The beer pours a clear light copper color with a smallish off white white head that recedes slowly leaving behind a small amount of lacing.
The aroma is slightly sweet and bready, with caramel and a bit of earthiness.
The flavor is bready, with a nice caramel sweetness and bit of an earthy undertone. There is also a mild hop spiciness. The body is medium/light, moderately carbonated with a dry finish.
Overall, this is quite a nice beer, it hits all of the marks I would look for in an easy drinking English Pale/ESB

Appearance: A two finger ecru head forms atop the clear amber liquid and then pancakes down while leaving dots and squiggles
Smell: Bread and caramel aromatics; malty with an earthy hop aspect
Taste: Bread and caramel tones forward with earthy bitterness building through the middle and into the finish
Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate carbonation
Overall: I can see why this beer has medaled so many times; to me, it verges on ESB territory but if Pilot wants to call it an English Pale that is fine with me; it is definitely exactly what I would look for in an English pub

It pours golden with a white head. Head retention is good. It has bready and biscuity flavors. There is also a bit of spice. It does finish on the bitter side.
