Poured pretty much a black body with minimal head and no lace. The aroma is basically charred wood and booze with a dark fruit aspect. Beer is heavy, slightly sticky, the main fruit flavor I seem to get is like black cherry more than anything else and then the finish is dry and boozy that makes a very slow sipper.

Only my second encounter with the Corporate Ladder, unless you count my 15 years at a Fortune 500 company. 500ML bottle, this version aged 26 months in Laird's Apple Brandy barrels.
The pour is very dark, one might say borderline black, spurning things like carbonation. Smells like bobbing for apples in a tub of booze. Mmmm.
Dissolution = Applesolution. Candied, sweet green apples slathered in brandy belts out an 80s anthem on the palate. Woohoo! Here we go. Certainly seems stronger than the measly 12% ABV on the label. My brain agrees. No beer to see here, but it passes the taste test with flying green colors. A true sipper. Going on 2+ hours & there's plenty left in the glass.
A boozy beast of a beer, allegedly, & that's the only thing that's missing, is some good English Barleywine undercurrent. Not complaining. This is excellent & a showcase for what barrels can be.
