In their quest for the most not-beer beer, Corporate Ladder teams up with Dekker brewer in an almond liquor inspired gluten free elixir that teases the palate in sweet, savory, fruity and sour succession.
Holmr glows vividly with a heavily diffused canary yellow color, opaque in its haze and topped off with a creamy white foam. As a heavy dose of almond, floral perfumes, tropical fruit, citrus and vinous notes tingle the nose, the first sip opens with a syrupy sweet taste of agave, confections, sugar cookie and floral honeysuckle.
As the flavors roll along, the almond sweetness rises above all other flavors with a striking taste of marzipan and amaretto. With the complement of banana and passionfruit in tow, the richer almond influence finds a fruity balance. As an undercurrent of lime, lemon, pineapple, gooseberry and white wine create a tangy balance, the session largely looms around the almond liquor flavors to close.
With hints of fennel and star anise, the session just screams Swiss and German desserts in a sweet and savory marzipan character that carries well past the tropical fruit and sour twinges.
