Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass with a very thin khaki head that dissipates to patches with slight lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, milk and dark chocolate, vanilla, hints of coffee and a little lactose. Flavor is sweet dark toasted malt, chocolate syrup and vanilla. Sweet finish. Medium bodied with light to medium creaminess. A quite sweet, very chocolatey stout. The chocolate burst from the bottle on opening and is the dominant flavor; quite authentic chocolate syrup profile. This was a little too sweet for my palette, verging on cloying; I'm saving the rest of the bottle to pour on ice cream, where it will be stellar. This could be my choice for a chocolate stout float, but a whole glass is too much. A classic, chocolate pastry stout.
