Carefully crafted to fully express its curated hops and yeasts, Ferment India Pale Ale brings the hops without being buried by bitterness. The biscuity, lightly sweet malts and fruity, dry yeast notes impart an herbaceous aroma to give the ale a complex nose of peach, tangerine, and red cedar.

It’s a smooth hazy ipa with creamy mouthfeel with caramel and a pine cone bite at the end!

Cloudy dark amber brew, though not exactly a hazy. Inviting pile of foam in the tall goblet. Flavors of peach, followed by the bitter herbal taste. Some fruit in the nose, a hint of lemon and more of wood. Tastes more like a bunch of hoppy sediment has not ever settled.

Plush mouthfeel. This has some interesting flavors, but too murky for much pleasure. Fruity sweet, and then turns unpleasantly bitter. Not much else to be said. From the 500 ml bottle purchased at the Hood River restaurant.

Beer is very hazy .. apricot color. Small dissapating white head.
Nice friuty hop aromas. Peach, mango, passion fruit.
Taste is similar to the aroma. But with a bit of old style malt.
Smooth mouth feel..nice finish.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a very hazy orange amber, nearly opaque in the glass with a fine, two finger white head with great retention and thick lacing. Aroma of lightly caramel malt, grassy, citrus and lightly tropical hops, orange, pineapple, mixed tropical and light stone fruit, a bit dank. Flavor is pale malt with a hint of caramel, citrus and tropical fruit hops, grapefruit, light orange, mixed tropical fruit, nothing very distinct. Reasonable moderate citrus rind and dank bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A somewhat different take on the IPA style, fitting in with the NW/NE hybrid versions. The look and somewhat vague mixed tropical fruit flavor, as well as the fruit profile of the finish lean to the hazy NE world, but there are some nice citrus notes as well as well as a satisfactory bitterness to keep interest. The hop bill is interesting but a bit muddled. Does not have as much English hop character as I expected from the description, but there's enough going on here anyway that this isn't missed. I'm intrigued enough to try some more from this brewery.

500ml bottle

Pours a big two finger white head into my willi becher. Looks extremely fluffy, pillowy, and creamy. Dissipates to a finger after a minute, but stays there for the remainder, very good retention. Body is a very dark burnt orange, with a fair amount of brown hues. Loads of carbonation coming up, as to be expected with the glass. Darker than a regular NWIPA but the bottle indicates this has some English roots, I will grade accordingly. Looks wonderful so far.

Nose is a pretty impressive blend of slightly sweet, slightly biscuity malts, with a medium hop presence. Hops manifest mostly as a sharp bitter aroma, upon deeper sniffs they come across as somewhat dank. No citrus or anything flashy like that though. It is very well balanced, so the hops aren’t the only thing on display. However, once you pick up on the hops it’s hard to get back to the malts, for that reason this is probably only a 4, it’s a good nose though.

Yeah the flavor hits the same way the aroma settled – hop forward. Usually not a problem, but somewhat of a letdown after the complexity it first had. The hops are very uncreative, not a lot going on - sharp, coming across as more of a euro hop varietal at the moment, but relatively well hopped. Medium - high bitterness. Not getting much of the malt character. Overall this is fine, just nothing exciting.

Despite my glass obliterating the carbonation as usual, it’s still hanging in there pretty well. Medium carbonation, and the heavy dose of hops does some work in the mouthfeel – not adding much lingering bitterness, but definitely adding character and bite. Pretty much no residual sugars, so much for it being biscuity. Body is relatively thin, but it’s ok for the refreshing mouthfeel that it has. Overall a very nice mouthfeel.

The drinkability is fine, it’s not a bad beer, it’s light enough, and the mouthfeel helps quite a bit.

The appearance turned out wonderful. Thick lacing all the way down the glass, and the head hung around in some capacity the entire way down.

Overall a beer that is kind of all over the place. Great mouth and appearance, pretty good nose, flavor was pretty average. Overall not an unenjoyable beer.
