A generous addition of toasted rice and a special blend of hops from around Europe lend this Japanese style lager unique notes of fruit blossoms, melon, and strawberry.

Taster flight at Ferment. Clear golden pour, small foamy white head, streaky lacing. Aroma and taste are crisp and clean , grainy, biscuity. Finishes with a nice little bite.

12oz can purchased at Huckleberry's, in Spokane, WA, for $2.09. according to the stamp on the bottom of the can, this was packaged on May 31st, 2023. My first from ferment, which I've never seen in Spokane before today.
Poured into a can glass, this was a clear golden amber color, with a sudsy, eggshell-white head. Moderate lace.
Herbal and citrusy hop aroma, in that order.
Herbal and citrusy hop flavor up front, and bone dry on the fadeout and finish. The hoppiness is a tad bitter, but in a good way.
Very dry and crisp mouthfeel.
This cultural hodgepodge of a Pilsner is extremely easy drinking stuff. It might be a tad too bitter from the herbal nature of the hops that were used for some, but I really dig it.

Clear bright gold color with plenty of foam in the Orval chalice. Lush and sudsy mouthfeel. Resiny notes with green melon. There is even a brown rice note. Just slightly sweet and slightly fruity to start, with that Pilsner-like hoppy burr for the finish. No unwelcome bitterness. Fragrant with grain and herbs and straw.
I"m not sure what you call a Japanese style Lager with rice and European hops, but it's quite good. Hops are listed as Hüll Melon, Strisselspalt (a French variety), and Celeia (offspring of Styrian Golding, Aurora and a Slovenian wild hop). A brewer's love child, and now I want this for my summer refrigerator beer. From the 12 oz can purchased in Bellingham.

can from Uptown Market.
A clear light yellow with a dense, white head with good retention, this looks solid. The nose is soft and floral, mildly jasmine like, a touch of grainy brown rice, a mild lemony herbal note. Surprisingly fruity on the nose. The palate opens dry and crisp, clean and fresh but with a moderate amount of hop flavor. Very light bitterness. The feel is that of a good rice lager - light but ample. Drying b with lingering flavors of melon and flowers, this is a solid lager.
