this is not usually the kind of beer to get me too excited from an american brewery, most of them all taste the same, same yeast, same warm temperatures, same almost lazy or obligatory vibe to them, even when well refined they never really hit too great, but ferment does some awesome belgian and french style beers, i respect and even admire them in these spaces, and so had to order this and im glad i did, still on the familiar side in terms of yeast, but its careful and intentional and i like the hops this packs on the back end, slightly american in that way, light and drinkable stuff, not overly estery, good for warm weather, which i have hit here the last few times through hood river. pretty clarity to this, looks like a pils, maybe only belgian pils malt at its core, airy and lasting white head, looks the part. nose and taste of green pears and red apples and, white pepper and mild banana, wit elements to this with a little citrus splash too, clean but estery at the same time, dry but with some linger as this style can sometimes be, white winey to close, even chardonnay specifically. a better and more interesting on the ferment take on this style than the vast majority of them, and well refined, was pleased with this.
