Weather-wise, a sundog is a phenomenon that occurs when sunlight refracts through ice crystals in the atmosphere creating colored spots of light in the sky. However, our SunDog has a double meaning which not only includes this, but also the dogs in our lives who love being outside in the winter (especially golden retrievers).
