Big roasted malt flavors and a smooth finish shine through in this classic style. Honoring those who are always thinking bigger in our condensing world.

16oz can. No dating information found.
Dark brown colored body, with a red cherry back lit edge. Thin light tan head, which results in an island and a thin ring. No lacing.
Aroma of dark roasted malts, char, molasses, chocolate, coffee, and light cream.
Taste is sweet, and has a definite char. Flavors of chocolate, coffee, toffee, dark cherry, and a solid char. Bitterness from dark roast coffee and moderate smoke. Mellow and smoky sweetness in the aftertaste.
More than medium mouthfeel. Slightly sticky ends in a clean finish. Good carbonation.
Fits in for style, with a higher sweetness level but also with a definite smoke/char.

Aroma is big roasted malts, chocolate and a hint of fruit. The flavor is roasted/malts, chocolate, complex nuts/macadamia and an acidic/slightly sweet finish.

This should have an oil derrick on the label instead of a grain bin, 'cause it's a gusher. Poured cold into a clean vintage glass goblet. First pour (center) was all foam, so do-over. Second pour was carefully dribbled down the side of the glass, yielding nearly a full glass of foam. Once past that, it's all good. Deep Coca-Cola colored body, with the aforementioned light tan clouds of foam. Aromas and flavors of dark roasty malt and char, with hints of tart black cherry, licorice, and molasses. This really shines on the finish, which is dry and crisp with a lingering hint of char on the palate. Why wait until winter to enjoy a great porter?

Crowler from the brewery poured into pint glass. Great head. Roastiness on nose and taste.

The aroma was right on for a Porter. I loved the smokeyness of the first sip. It had a great finish. A real hidden gem.
