13 oz. pour on draught at the brewery. It's an attractive pour: very dark ruby in color with a modest, light khaki head and lacing. It smells of bready malt, raisin, plum, brown sugar, and caramel. The taste offers raisin, fig, plum, and sweet brown bread with mild bitterness throughout. Its mouth feel is relatively creamy with lite/moderate carbonation, and th4 7.9% ABV gives lots of substance. Overall, Amputator is a well-crafted and enjoyable Doppelbock.

Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Mild, bread and dark fruit aroma. Taste follows with the emphasis on the dark fruits, rain and prune. Feel is good, rich and smooth. Overall a tasty dopplebock that is easy drinking.
