Bottle to snifter.
Super impressed. was expecting a poor mans CBS, but ended up trying to decide if this was in fact better. No, in the end, but damn close.
Tons of cocoa and maple. Coffee, oak , bourbon, roasted malt are evident. I also get black cherry, blueberry, black licorice, raspberry.
Only negative is that it's a bit too sweet and syrupy.

2021 release. Poured from a wax-sealed bottle into a pub glass. When I popped the cap the Stout bubbled out of the top of the bottle. It pours a very dark mahogany with a creamy, lite mocha cap and thin sheen of lacing. There is a strong aroma of maple syrup along with roasted malt, caramel, coffee, and distinct but mellow bourbon. It's very sweet; the maple syrup dominates over the coffee and chocolate. The bourbon adds depth but it's not overly strong and it doesn't dominate. The problem is the high level of sweetness. It's flavorful but a bit cloying for my taste. The mouth feel is moderately thick and creamy and it's quite boozy at 13.3% ABV. Overall, while I can understand why others really like Le Dejeuner, it simply is overly sweet to my palate.
