A decent lager. Found all over the country. Nice gold clear color, decent white head. Taste is more malty and less adjunct junk than most Amer.Adjunct lagers. Mouthfeel rich enough for the style. The one to ask for in restaurants.

The best lager in the country, I don’t usually say this but, I would easily pay the double of its market value.
The taste is good, strong and goes down easy, not too much white head, perfect for a medium rare rib eye

Poured from a green bottle into a wine glass. From notes. Reviewed August 2014.

Pale and clear and bubbly
Smells like Heineken. Skunky lager.
Soft, watery and vague. Vaguely European. Hint of odd herbalness (skunked hops, probably), but the heavy carbonation makes it taste strangely enchanting.
Not very good, but easy-drinking and refreshing.

Pale gold pour, white head; a little lacing; lite bready notes (smells like a Strohs!); little flavor here, mostly bubbles, metallic finish; crisp mouthfeel; overall enjoyable lite beer. Cheers Quito!

Consumed several bottles of this during the Ecuador trip in 2014. Mostly poured into shaker pints; sometimes it came straight from the bottle.

Clear and golden in color; corn and weak malt on the nose; typical adjunct watery vegetal taste; bubbly texture with a sweet finish.

An unexciting but ubiquitous beer that lubricated poolside conversation.

Very cheap and smooth beer. If you're in Ecuador, this and Pilsner are the two to try out. I drank it mostly in Guayaquil during my visit there and it goes great with the city's tropical climate.

12 oz green bottle brought back by a friend from Ecuador, thanks a bunch Stephanie! Has a stamp of 220110, not sure if that is the bottled date or best by. Pours a very clear, light gold color with a thick cap of stark white foam. Retention is actually really good for the style but does not leave much lacing.

Not a whole lot going on in the nose...some lightly sweet grains and a mild pilsner-esque hop aroma. Nothing offensive here and smells like many other caribbean, south/central american pilsner style lagers.

Taste is pretty fresh, there is a decent amount of leafy hops that are probably more noticeable due to the very light malt bill here. Just a flash of lightly sweet corn and then it is gone, replaced by some carbonation scrubbing and a touch of bitterness. It's not too bad really, there are certainly many lagers out there that are worse. I could down a few of these after a hike in the Andes, no problem.

A: Straw golden body with little to no head.
S: A bit sweet mixed with corn and dough.
T: Pretty standard for an adjunct lager, not a whole lot there and pretty watery, but I'm guessing that is what they were going for.
M: Pretty high carbonation, thin, good cold.
D: Carbonation too high to make it garner anything more than a "4", but still could easily have a few. Though it's allegedly a step up from the other main Ecuadorian beer, Pilsener, I didn't notice much of a difference. Both were enjoyable to have on hot days at a local nar in Quito.

light green bottle, twist-off cap, best before end of June 2007

Pours golden straw yellow with a thin head that becomes a short-lived patch.

The smell is of a strong chemicalish sulfur. Not much more.

Ah...sulfur and cooked veggies. Hints of sweet malt and maybe some grassiness are restrained by a chemical-like, adjunct-like sweetness - not unlike cooked vegetable oil. Only a hint of actual malt. Hops are hardly present, if at all. The sweetness seems somewhat restrained only by over-watering.

The feel is rather watery. Some sweetness lingers, but so does the seltzery feel. The name is "Club" - not far off from club soda.

The aftertaste doesn't help. I hope that this is not the finest that Ecuador has to offer. Even for what it is, it's pretty bad.
