On tap at the brewery.
This was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a nice looking dark brown close to black color with no head or lace.
The aroma had a nice blend of English ale yeasty tones coating some earthiness, roasted malts, some sweet nuts (pecan-like) and a touch of dark chocolate powder.
The flavor combined the prior mentioned aromas together bittersweetly then added a brisk touch of toast and coffee. Mild aftertaste of earthiness, coffee, English ale yeast, nuts and dark chocolate.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Good carbonation and ABV. Mild finish of dry dark chocolate, coffee and toast.
Overall, odd for the style but I have to admit as an American, this is quite good.
