Had on tap at the brewery on Monday, February 25th.
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a nice looking dark brown close to black color with a small off white foamy head quickly sliding off. Barely any lace.
The aroma had a nice blend of cocoa powder to coffee bean roastiness. Light mixture of dark fruits with some lactose and dark chocolate nibs underneath.
The flavor was moderately sweet bringing in a subtle balance of roast, earthiness and dark fruitiness. Well combined aftertaste of dark chocolate nibs, milk chocolate and dark fruits.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Non-distracting ABV helps to meld with an appropriate carbonation. Nice roasty grip on the finish.
Overall, quite a nice toasty and roasty imperial porter I'd have again.
