Sampling a slightly chilled 16 oz can and poured into my Pils glass. I got this over the summer on a visit to PA and this can got buried in back of cellar. Time to consume it.
The beer pours a bright champagne clear gold color and rests only slightly darker hue in my glass. A rocky bleached white head foams up 5 cm and prevents me from emptying the entire can into the glass. This foam recedes slowly during the sampling. Remains as a spongey surface covering. Several active streams of carbonation rise to the surface.
Aroma is some biscuity malt, grassy hops, a bit of vegetal hop scent too, some chalky mineral note. No hint of ABV on the nose.
First sip reveals a light body with very fine and tingly carbonation. The texture is sharp or crisp on my palate. Finish dries out quite a bit on the swallow.
Flavor is biscuit malt for a short hit and then rolls to a fairly bitey hop note that is a bit of grassy and some black tea. This bitterness lingers after each sip.
I find this beer to be a little too astringent on the finish, but otherwise it is fine.
